I’m a rookie at using power equipment. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I can use a drum sander on plastics and laminates. polyethylene is the plastic I’m referring to. I know if i try to plane it, it will shoot out like a plastic bullet. Will the sander do the same thing?

I would be very careful using a drum sander on plastic. The most obvious problem is that the plastic is likely to melt, ruining your sandpaper. Take it very slowly and don't push the work hard against the sander.
BTW, you might get more replies if you chose a more specific title for your post - "Shaping polyethylene with drum sander" perhaps. Make it more obvious what you are looking for.
Thanks for the advice and the tip!
