Using traditional router plate in MLCS router table extension

This question is for anyone who might have an MLCS router extension table installed in their table saw like I do. I am want to install a traditional router lift (e.g. JessEm, Rockler, Kreg, etc.). However, MLCS, for whatever reason, uses a non-traditional size for its router plate…9 1/32” X 12 3/32” as opposed to the standard size of 9 ¼” X 11 ¾”.
Thus, this necessitates a modification of the insert location. The short dimension needs to be slightly enlarged and the long dimension needs a support. I’m thinking of routing the short dimension to 9 ¼” and screwing a support (maybe metal strip) on the underside to support the long dimension. Sounds simple. Or am I just being simple-minded and missing something?
For reference, here is link to the installation when I first completed it about 8 years ago.

There is no "traditional size" per se. Like printer cartridges, each maker does their own thing. My current table is a Rockler that I re-routed the opening on to fit a Woodpecker lift. Lucky me, the Woodpecker plate was larger than the Rockler opening so easy-peasy. This basic setup has served me well for many years.
https://www.finewoodworking.com/profile/geedubbee - Thanks for your input. I've ordered my router lift. Like you, I'll just go for it..routing a bit here and patching a bit there.
Glad to help. I found using a router bit that had the same radius as the plate made things easier. Here's a how to that is decent.
