   Hi Duster,

   I'm going to jump in on this question because we make it a policy not to offer tool recommendations in the forum, other than quoting from reviews we published in Fine Woodworking magazine. Unless we can really study all of the products in a certain category we don't feel comfortable recommending one manufacturer over another.

   Here are two companies that I've met at some recent woodworking trade shows.

   You might also want to read this general overview on vacuum veneering. It may offer some insight into features you should look for in a vacuum pump.
