   1 part denatured alcahol

   1 part glycerin found ar food stores and drug stores

   Constantines sells one that works pretty well, pre mixed.  You can make the above mixture with hide glue, which is what I have done in the past.  I would be a bit concerned that he yellow or white glue could affect the finish.

   Joe Woodworker

   Joe's site is great and he sells top notch veneer.  He is also a great wealth of information.  I built my vacuum press from his plans and bought the parts as a kit and it works great.  His softener will get the job done. He ships quick and is easy to work with.  I've sent numerous questions to him about doing some bubinga (screwing it up would have been expensive) and his tips worked great.
