I have some beautiful walnut burl veneer I am about to use and it needs to be flattened. I was going to use a recipie from FWW flour, glycerin, water, alcohol, and plastic resin glue. Plastic resin glue is not available in my area and it won’t come for two weeks if I order it. Is there a substitute for this or is there a different recipie anyone knows???

Check out vacupress.com Daryll has a good Flattening formula. Also lots of other veneer type info.
I purchased veneer softener from joewoodworker.com for carpathean elm burl and it worked well. It looks like Klingspor has also added this to its catalog. Be careful with some of those home recipes for softening veneer as most make the veneer sticky.
