I have a home office with two built in desks, bookshelves, and a credenza—all made out of white melamine. I would like to veneer over at least some of it to gt rid of the relentless, white, hard-edged, dentist office look. Are there problems applying veneer to melamine that I should be aware of. Any veneer species you are particularly fond of for office furniture? Thank you and Happy Holidays. Paul

Hi Paul,
Veneer glues (PVA, urea resin, hot hide) don't stick to melamine. We actually use melamine as top and bottom cauls when we press veneer. Even if you roughed up the surface down to the substraight, that places you didn't rough up would produce bubbles.
Best,
