About 10 years ago my wife had cabinets installed in her office. Now the veneer on some of the doors is starting to lift on the edges. It has not lifted much, but enough to cause the doors to rub against one another. (The doours are curved at the vertical edges, so one piece of veneer is wrapped around the entire door – there’s no edge veneer where the problem is.)
I took some regular wood glue, clamped the veneer real tight with a caul and clamps, but the glue would not hold. I cant easily get a chisel or anything else into the small gap to clean out the remains of the old glue.
What’s the best way to get the veneer to stick down again?
thanks

Doors
I'm guessing since the doors are curved someone may have used contact cement. The CC may be preventing the regular glue from adhering.
If you can abrade the back of the veneer and substrate enough to clear it of old glue using a needle file - you may be able to reglue using regular glue.
Heat + pressure can work if it is CC but you are in danger of hurting the finish that way.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give this a try on the weekend.
I would try applying heat with an old clothes iron, then use a roller, clamps or something to press the veneer down as it cools.
