I understand the plywood grading system and understand different plywood manufacturers use different numbers of layers to make up the same size plywood (for example some 3/4″ plywood might have 5 layers and some 7). My question is can you order plywood with thicker layers of the veneer? As we all know the venner thickness is rediculously thin which makes it more difficult to work with. Are there any plywoods with thick outside veneers…say as much as 1/8″.
I know I could do that myself but was just wondering about anything commercially available.
Thanks

Great Q, I've been thinking that myself recently, would even settle for less than 1/8", anything thicker than 0.0015" would be a major improvement.
