Veritas 32mm system opinions wanted
I am considering purchasing the 32mm cabinetmaking “system” that is manufactured by Veritas and sold through Lee Valley. The jig consists of predrilled bars and various accessories for drilling accurately spaced holes in cabinet sides. If anyone has used this system I would appreciate your comments. Thanks in advance, Bill

I have it and like it, but I've only managed five cabinets so far - can't get enough time to work on the things I'd really like to be doing.
Setup takes some thought, at least the first few times. The little manual that comes with it, which I think you can download from the Lee Valley site, is pretty good, but I still had a fair number of "aha!" moments when setting it up and using it. I had some typical beginner problems in using it for shelf holes, flipping a piece of plywood the wrong way the first time, but that's my fault.
I use it for dowel holes on the first case, but decided that biscuiting is just faster for me. (Can't bring myself to use screws.) For shelf holes it's great and nicely flexible for different size holes, but you'll definitely need some patience for completely repetitive tasks.
Overall, I'm happy that I got it, but I'll be a while making it pay for itself. I'm looking forward to doing so!
