I’m considering getting a Saw Trax 52″ Vertical Saw. I’d appreciate any feedback about this saw or recommendations for other vertical saws.

Did you look at the Powermatic vertical saw? I saw it at a industrial tool store and it looks well made , it will cut up to 62" , not sure if that too much than you need, anyway take a look at this also while your shopping around. see link below

The 62" capacity is handy if you are cutting European plywood, like Baltic birch, which comes in 60" by 60" sheets.

If you are wanting something for panel cutting, take a look at the EZ Smart system from Eurekazone at http://ezsmarttools.com/index.html.
It is a lot cheaper then a panel saw and is very EZ to use.
Nice tool but not vertical, many of us who bought vertical saws did so to save space and get away from flopping around heavy sheet goods. Price is'nt everything. Ihave the Milwaukee which is relatively inexpensive for a panel saw and which works very well after fabricating a splitter ( thanks Forest Girl) .
Been there, done that with the vertical panel saw. Recently, I tried the EZ Smart system and wow! With the EZ, you lay the panel (Sheet of plywood) on a table and start cutting. You remove pieces only after they are cut to final size. Using the cabinet maker - guide rail equipped with the smart square and a repeater - you do your cross cuts first and then start ripping. Since a good cutting table like the smart table takes up very little space and you don't need the 8' minimumon each side of the saw, the EZ Smart takes up a lot less space.
I got started with the EZ system as a way to do things easier - I've had 3 major surgeries in two years. I have been pleasantly surprised to find out that in addition to being an easier way to work it is faster and more accurate.
