Hello,
I inherited a old Delta 14″ 2-speed band saw from my Dad. It is in perfect working condition but it needed a new paint job so I’m in the middle of stripping it and re-painting the entire saw. I think I have narrowed it down to a 1939-1941 based on the Delta badge on the top cover but I don’t see a serial number plate anywhere on the saw. I’m trying to determine the model number. I’ve read that Delta didn’t start putting serial numbers on band saws until after 1941. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It’s a Delta model 890 bandsaw. http://vintagemachinery.org/registry/detail.aspx?id=16456
To find the model of your Delta band saw, compare its features with old Delta catalogs, check for unique identifiers, and seek advice from vintage tool forums or communities.
