I ran across this on ebay. Thought some fans of vintage Delta Rockwell might find it interesting.

Believe it or not, he's restored and sold several collections like this!
Pete
Yea I saw that too. I always arange by "price highest to lowest" so I can dream about all the super machines I'll never have.
Mike
I may be wrong, but I believe that this is the third year running that this collection has been up for auction-I remember in particular the vertical tank green compressor
Possibly it is not selling because the seller will not sell individual items?
When one looks at some of those machines it is obvious that Delta now a mere shadow of it's former self as far as making "good stuff" goes....but are the shareholders better off now/is the company worth more now? And what percentage of cost is out-sourcing now?
I think you're wrong. They've been talking about him on Old Woodworking Machines. I think he's a member, and this is the third (different) shop he's put up for sale. The first two sold for plenty $$ too.
When you think about it, he's getting a good price but not an exorbitant one. These aren't fixer-upper machines, they're all restored and working. And those aren't cheap like stuff just off a shop floor (or out of neglected storage).
Let's say you're a doctor, retiring from practice and you want a new hobby. Wouldn't it be cool to walk right into all that? If I had the scratch, I might have been tempted by such a setup. My goal is for my work to outlast me. Expect my joinery to get simpler as time goes by.
Well it has been confirmed that he does this on an ongoing basis.Assuming that the mechanical work has also been done to a high standard, whoever gets those machines will be very happy-things will be working smoothly and accurately.

Where is the sawdust? He must work in an adjacent room. For 42,000 that saw better B#+W you. Sorry had to be said!
lord forgive me for that one too

This same collection was already offered once, the auction ended a few days ago without a single bid. Think the first round started at 45K and might not have included shipping.
The idea of having to carefully pack up and ship all that flawless machinery boggles the mind, it would have to take a few weeks to crate.

Actually this is the 4th shop he has sold over the past 4-5 years. Tim restores machines and this is how he markets them. All 3 previous shops did sell and they are well documented. Yes, his starting price on this one was 45 grand but did include shipping. Shoot, I was even tempted. But going to jail after robbing the bank just isn't worth it. Tim will eventually sale this setup also. As was mentioned earlier, it's a "plug-n-play" shop. Brian
