Today, I purchased a Columbian & MFG. Co. (made in the USA) Quick Release Vise in excellent condition for $45. The work space is 7″ however I am not sure how wide it opens. I feel that I got a fairly good price but I am not certain. Also, the individual which I purchased from has two more Columbian vises for $35 each (not quick relase). Should I purchase another vise for my bench?

Probably, but perhaps not of the same style. The typical "woodworker's" vise tends to be fairly limited, even though handy for certain functions. I like the larger Jorgensen vises of that general design, for example, but would also want a larger, traditional front vise (twin screw with ample spacing), a tail vise, or an end vise to compliment the functionality. As they say, a person can never have too many vises (or, clamps). Give some thought to what you do, and how you'll need to hold the stock. That thought process will guide you toward the style of vises you'll want to have.
