I just read about Vulpex Soap at
http://www.restorationproduct.com/veluxinfo.html
It is a concentrate that can be diluted with either water (6.5:1) or mineral spirits (20:1) to clean furniture (and just about everything else). Sounds good but–holey moley!–is it ever expensive: $80 for a one-liter bottle. (They also sell a 100ml bottle for $20, but then you’re effectively paying $200 per liter.)
Is this stuff worth it?

Hi Janet,
It depends on what you are trying to achieve.
I have been using Vulpex for about 4 years now and all I can say is that it really works. It removes grime that would take ten times as long using something like a mild soap.
The biggest advantage is that you can mix it with mineral spirits and wont have to worry about raising the grain if the finish is lacking on a piece.
The biggest drawback is the smell. It has quite a powerful odor that is also persistent.
If you look around the net you can find some places that sell Vulpex in small (2 ounce) quantities which is good for a few projects and you dont have to invest the cash iF you think the product is not worth it.
In my experience it has been worth every penny.
