I have an old Walker-Turner lathe. I understand that this company was absorbed into the Delta family some many years ago. I have restored this machine and it performs well. I’m wondering if anyone knows of a source of replacement parts should I need them in future. Best regards…

Bob,
You are correct in that Walker -turner was absorbed by Delta. I would try them and see if they still offer parts though I can't imagine anything going wrong that you couldn't get aftermarket. Bearings, centers, motors etc. should all be readily available. Short of breaking a casting I can't see that you should need anything from the original manufacturer.

Hi Bob,
I've got an old Walker-Turner lathe too. It's the Driver series. It's the same model that one of my favorite woodworking authors, Franklin H. Gottshall, used. Saw a picture in one of his books.
I also have a Walker-Turner 16-inch band saw. It is an amazing piece of wood-working machinery. You know it is a serious band saw when even the doors are cast iron.
You can find out almost all there is to know about Walker Turner and a lot of other wood working machinery at http://www.oldwwmachines.com/ Lots of great stuff.
