I Have some Kiln dried, bookmatched ,musical curley claro walnut boards that are 11′ wide X 4/4 full sanded and jointed,I am making headboard and footboard out of them.Want to know if I can glue them up as is ,or should I rip in half and glue.Will try to post pics of boards ,Thanks in advance ARTIE

As long as they have come to equilibrium with your area, there should be no problem with glueing them up as is, as long as you take seasonal wood movement into account in your construction. If they have the kind of figure and grain that your description suggests, then it would be a real shame to ruin that by ripping them into 1/2s or 1/3s.....

Thanks ,for the reply james.I live in ERie pa.along the lake so high humidity summer, pretty dry in winter(forced air heat).Will try to post pics. of boards.I will probably wait a couple weeks before doing any milling on these boards,can't seem to get attach files to work here .thanks again artie
