A friend cut down a black Walnut. I helped out “limbing” and had no reaction. After getting the trunk cut and dried, I was ready to go. I had planned one board a month or so ago. Still no problem. Last Week, I planned and used the table saw ( much more dust) . Within a day or so, I had rash on my neck and arms. My eyes also had a crusty feel to them. Over a week, I developed rash on areas of my legs and sides of my stomach. It seems to be finally ending(I hope).

allergic reactions
Some lumbers are classified as sensitizers, just like bee stings, and you found one of them. Even maple with some people can give a reaction. And some of the Exotics can cause extreme reactions (cocobola for one) Depending on the severity of the allergy and your love of a particular lumber. Deck out in a HAZMAT SUIT, or avoid the lumber species.
