I’m currently working on a set of chairs to go with an antique dining room table. The table has a very old reddish finish. I’m almost positive the table is walnut (so positive I’ve already purchased ~100bf of lumber to make the chairs). Can anyone recommend a good way to give the dark walnut a reddish color?

Just add a little red paint, stain, or dye stain to the first coat or two of finish. Then finish with a couple coats of clear finish.
Remember two things though: 1) A little color/tint goes a long way, so a number of coats with very little color are better than 1 coat with lots of color. 2) Make sure the stain/pant is compatible with the finish...water base with water base, oil with oil.
Good Luck, Bob
