   Jonesy, if you don't mind coming up with the big bucks, ebay currently has at least 4 listed. The bids are currently $400-$700. I'm a finish carpenter by trade, & have wanted to know for years why these things are in such demand, & why they bring such big bucks on ebay. Never having used anything but my Porter Cable porta-plane for the past 15 years, am I missing something?

   Hi Greg - the skil planer was made in the 50's, 60's ,and early 70's it's purpose was simply for the installation of wood door slabs. What Skil tool company made was a very versatile tool which surfboard shapers and boatbuilders love. This planer works like no other planer on the market today. The portacable and rockwell planes are similar, but not as user friendly as the skil model 100. The reason these planes are selling for such a price on e-bay is the fact that skil does not manufacture this plane any longer, and the fact that people get caught up in a bidding war over the skil planer. If you come across the  skil 100 buy it , you'll never get over how good this planer works and feels when working on a piece of wood or foam.

   skil model 100 for sale

   Hello greg I came across ur post about the skil planer. I have 1 for sale with original box spare blades and manuals papers(all the bells and whistles).    Skil model 100 plane

   I have the afore mentioned plane.  5.5 155 D.C. - A.C. to 60 cycles.  Its had some use.  I need to take some pictures.  Are you still interested?

   My 100 moel skill planer

   I bought this planer back in 1972 or 73 when i worked for Imperial Woodworking in Palatine Ill.  Planer operates as good as the day i bought it.  It does need a new cord but other than that great shape.  Used it just last week on my daughter house worked fine but thats the first time in maybe 10 years retired 8 years ago so not much need for it.  If you have never used the 100 its a great planer and i have used all of them just none better.  Willing to take an offer if your still intrested in one.

   I have a skill 100 plane I would let go of it needs bladed but other than that everything seems to be ok. If you are interested

   I will be getting a Skil Model 100 7.5 amp planer soon. Have you found one yet? Looking at $750 plus shipping. Can send pics later this week.
