I glued up some frame-and-panel doors out of white oak for a kitchen cabinet. A few of the doors are warped, extending about 1/8″ out of plane on one corner. Is there any way to fix this, short of planing off a lot of wood? I should have been more careful in the glue up. Next time!

ClifP,
I'm sorry to say I have no remedy for doors this tweaked. A little wood off one corner, say a 1/16" or so wouldn't be too much, but at 1/8" you're removing quite a bit.
You could try to add some battens to the back side of it to pull it in. You could try rabbeting the edges of the frame, only if the door is large enough, and hide the twist in the rabbet. But it's a lot of work.
Pull the panel and try to save it, checking to see it's not too twisted, it might be the culprit, and try again. Gary
Thanks, Gary.
I've learned my lesson, I'll be much more aware about getting the panels flat during glue up the next time I do this. I always learn from my mistakes, and some days it seems like I do nothing but learn!

Clif,
Ain't learning great? It broadens your vocabulary too!
Best of luck. Gary
