My dust collector sits in his separate lttle room, a couple of days ago something happened and one of the upper bags got loose.
The dust collector minus one upper bag was much more efficient.
Are bags washable ? Is there a special way of doing it ?
Thanks, C.

Cit, You can, as long as it is fabric. beat the thing free of as much dust as you can. wash it in cold water with no soap, spin once, rinse twice, and let it air dry
Hope this helps, Lou

I think you will be wasting your time, the washed bag's pore's will be filled with dust again within minutes of reinstalling, in fact many filters depend on the fabric getting partially filled to get the pore sizes narrowed down to capture finer particles.
As to the unit working better with a filter off, that is perfectly normal, all filters cause some resistance. If your machine has coarse fabric filters, the type that often come as stock on many machines. you will get better airflow, and capture the finer most dangerous dust, by switching to felt type bags or a cartridge type of filter.

I am thinking about making an addition to my dust collector's building and blow the saw dust in it, my neighbor could pick up the saw dust for his chickens when he wants it and there will be no fussing with bags etc. C.
