One of the secretaries at my school has a desk that has been damaged from a wet vase. It has left a cloudy white ring in the finish. She has rubbed it with a lemon oil polish that will remove the mark temporarily but after a while it will return. I’m sure I’ve read somewhere of a procedure for dealing with this but I can’t recall it. Anyone have any suggestions?

Sheldon,
Rub a light coat of mayonaisse on the area, let it remain overnight, then rub off with soft cloth. GP
*If the mayo doesn't work look for a product called Howard's Restor-a-Finish. It will remove the ring.
