I’m in the process of applying some new coats of wax to the attached coffee table. When buffing out the wax, I have two questions:
1. With the grain, against or doesn’t matter?
2. Should I mix the rag up to find a new clear spot on the rag or should I continue to use the same spot (it almost takes on a burnished look) ?
Thanks,
Joe

Very nice looking table.
Be careful about using too much wax. Each coat of wax basically dissolves the prior coat and the surface will just get gummy. You can't "build" a wax finish. Two coat applied per the instruction label is about all to use. Buff any way you want. If you see swirls, you have too much wax on the surface. Less is better than more.
Although I apply the wax by hand, I buff with a bonnet over a standoff pad on my ROS.
Right now, my shoulder wishes I would have used something more than just elbow grease to buff it out!!
