Hello. I am having a seemingly simple problem. The finisi keh I use is polly rubbed to a Satin. I use pumice first then rotten stone with oil as a rubbing agent. The problem That im having is when im done rubbing the finish when I apply a coat of wax at the end I keep on getting blotchy spots when I buff off the wax it feels and looks like dried Wax that wont come off. Regardless of what wax I use. The only thing that takes it off is mineral spirits which also takes off the wax….any help here is appreciated. Also I have tried every way of applying it including steel wool. Thanks for any help

The simple solution is not to use wax. It doesn't add much in the way of protection and requires constant maintenance.
As far as getting wax to work, THIN application is the first thing, and then working quickly to buff off the excess--don't wait for all the solvent to evaporate first the buffing process will deal with that.
Exactly what Steve said. And in addition, have you let the finish completely cure? who knows if not.
thanks
Thanks for the help guys....
