I’m building an armoire. It will be a 2 piece unit, a base with 2 drawers and the top with two doors and shelves.
The base is frame and panel construction 34″ wide x 21″ deep. The bottom drawer is 10″ and the next is 8″. The two drawers will ride on web frames.
QUESTION – How should the web frames be attached to the frame and panel sides. The bottom web frame will attached to the bottom rail. The web frame for the 8″ drawer will attach to the 3 stiles of the frame and panel end.
Replies
The web frame is attached at the front posts with a double tennon.
The web frame is attached to the rear posts with tounge and dado. There is no attachment to the panels.
Don't get too crazy with attaching the frame--it doesn't need a lot of strength at the rear--just a groove into which it snaps. No glue.
The key with Web Frames is that if they become too complicated, glue up will be impossible because with the average TiteBond, you will have about 15 minutes for glue up. Not enough time to wrestle with 4-5 Web Frames. So keep it simple, or switch to slow set epoxy.

Boris
