Just looked over some web sites from you guys and am duly impressed. I was wondering though, if any one is willing to share their secrets for promoting their site? I’ve been on line for quite a while and besides the potential customers I send there, I do very little business. Any suggestions? Jim Walters www.jjwalters.com

Jim , that's the trick , getting traffic . Make sure you have ALL the meta tags , ie title , description and keywords. You'd be surprised how many sites don't have any or maybe only the title. These are imperative for search engines to index your site fully. Our site has been up for just over a year and initially we were pretty happy with the 100 visits a day , but now that we've optimised the site for SEs we're getting around 1K visits per day, with no sign of it slowing down . There are plenty of sites on the net that will give you advice (free) on doing this , but in the end it just boils down to doing the hard work and fine tuning. If you don't have a top ten ranking in the SEs you're not even in the running.

*Hello, I have a site that has been up for a few years, and I am still fine tuning it. The site pulls in around 70,000 to 100,000 hits a month. search engines, tags, every little bit helps. though hits are not sales, the problem I find is this, they still want to touch and feel the piece.. and at the cost of handmade or custom furniture etc. I can relate to this..but as things move forword the sales rise.. there are other issues when on the net, shipping etc. the web site should be just a step to better know the maker and to provide imformation to the client...just my opinion..... good luckMark
*Mark what is your conversion rate per visit

*If you wanna get traffic you gotta advertise. If you wanna advertise without spending the bucks you gotta get your site right.try some of the tips at http://www.bruceclay.com. These have really helped me get my ranking in search engines up and I am starting to get passing traffic because of it. A web site is not a way of doing business - it is an additional way.
