A big welcome to Len, aka “Popeye”, from WWA, who found out about Knots when he went to the NW WWers fest in Seattle this weekend.
Len! Introduce yourself, where you’re from, how long been WWing, what type of “stuff” you do. Inquiring minds wanna know.
[Well, it’d be nice if I could spell. I meant to title it “…introduce yourself.”]

Well, I'm from Brush Prairie Wa. which is N.E.of Vancouver Wa. I've been building and developing properties for 30 years. Just started getting serious about furniture about 4 years ago. Here is a link to some of my work. http://www.woodworking.org/imagepost/users/00002233/index.html
That is, except for that incredible demi-lune table. That was the "Best in Show" winner at the Best of the Northwest show last december. Created by Don DeDobbeleer from Etna Cal. That same show will be Dec 3/4 this year at the Portland Convention center. Mark your calendar!!!!It's a good one.Currently shown on pg 30 in the mar/apr issue of Woodworker West magazine.
I am a very active guild member, and am currently working on a contemporary piece for a show in May.
Got the popeye handle because I spend a good bit of time boating.

Welcome to Knots.

Len, you saw this message, great! I sent you an email just now, before I saw your response.
Hmmmmm, gonna try that link to your table:http://www.woodworking.org/imagepost/users/00002233/index.html
Ahhhh, that's better. Hey, you Knotsheads, click and take a look. BTW, Popeye gets the award for "Most intriguing show-and-tell" on Saturday. The guys were gathered around the ellipsis jig for a l-o-n-g time! forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
Actually all the "math" discussion was on the large radius circle jig, not the elipse, Trying to figure the mathmatical method to the curve, and angles of the guides, rather than the hit and miss method which I've been useing. I did save the formulas, and learned that I should have paid better attention in math class!!! It was a good lesson!!! Len
Ah, thanks Len. Obviously, I didn't hang out, LOL. (Too busy taking pictures?)forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
Hi Len. Welcome.
It's always good to meet another Len.
See you around Knots.
Hi, I'm Len and I'm a Toolaholic...
I'm trying to get him to use his nickname Popeye here at Knots. We don't have another Popeye, do we?? I think we need one, LOL!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
O.K. Jamie, I switched it to Popeye!! "That's all what I am" Gotta give the other Len some space!!! I'll still sign off as Len.
Hey, great! I love having a "popeye" around. When the other guys start ganging up on me, I'll be running to you for help!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
