wenge squares on chess board with tung oil finish has small lines what can i do?
Help, I finshed my chess board and applied tung oil finish 4 coats and I can see small lines that look white from an angle on the wenge squares. The curly maple looks great but I am not quite happy with the wenge. What can I do to level the finish and fill the tiny ridges? Thanks.

First, what kind (brand) of tung oil did you use? There are a lot of products labeled tung oil finish that aren't tung oil.
Can you describe your application process in a bit more detail? The right tecnique needs to be matched to the particular product.
Wenge is a very open pore or coarse wood, so you may have not soaked up all the excess oil after each application. I'd try to duplicate on some leftover wenge, and then experiment on the duplicated scrap.
