PPPS: I went and read a few posts after I wrote that in the “Hand Tools” discussion and once again I was reading gibberish that I never saw here in the old days from the same people. In the last few visits here I was thinking they must be getting Alzheimer’s or something. I would copy some examples into this comment but it would go all to hell in the attempt but mostly I don’t want to criticize the great people here.
My point is it isn’t Alzheimer’s. I see what it is now. The weird cut and paste is causing people to be unable to assemble their text/thoughts as they intend and or they are so worn out from the attempt they just leave it messed up in the hope that the general meaning will be deciphered.

Good reply.. Life is very short to get upset about small things. We all carry burdens and most not easy to get over.. I for one like Roc's posts.. Even if out of my thoughts do not match his all the time.

That was awesome ! You are a master. Thanks,
Will,
Thanks for your kind words. I will NOT lighten up. I am not criticizing the posters just the "tools" they/we are expected to use.
Do we have to go to the ________(fill in the blank with the name of any other chat room ) to have a cut and paste ?
Some people figure some things that are UNNECESSARILY tedious are just part of the pain of living. I say where else does one have to put up with this pain of a cut and paste but here?
Cut and paste
Paste after snipping I may not be able to do, but on me Mac, me can select, then click and drag. See below:
You are a masteown a tree and I will sARILY tedious are just parNOT lighten up
Just be careful what you are selecting. A solution I have found for copying and pasting, is to paste what you want, then select everything else and copy and paste it and it will be back in order. Less than ideil, but it worky.
Roc.. What a mess?
I only read posts that folks were nice to you. Maybe not about wooden planes, maybe off-topic, but that makes life what it is! Every time I talked to my wonderful wife, it was sort of off-topic on what I started to say in the first place. I enjoyed her input anyway.
Lighten up, life is what comes to you and yours.. Enjoy it! NO, you do not have to put up with hate in any manner. I think some (like me) play on words they see and go off into someplace else.. No hate to you at all, I would think.
People love to talk! Even if not the same subject YOU started with!
In my case I guess ignorance is bliss. I would blame all my poor posts on user error
I think everything is fine here and the people are nice.
And there are some pretty good woodworkers here also.
Enjoy, Bret

So it must be only Macs that have a problem ? I just tried to insert the non words into that quote I copied from your text and into this paragraph. Using command key it goes to the front of the phrase and using the control key it goes to the bottom and in most of the attempts I lost text and had to hit undo repeatedly to get it back.
I have had enough

I think the short answer is that the so-called WYSIWYG editor module being used (mostly to satisfy requests from folks who don't want to use HTML code) sucks. It appears to behave differently with different OS platforms and different browsers, and blocks HTML entirely.
RalphBarker to the rescue. Thanks
Aaaaaahhhhsssssso
Thanks. A glimmer begins to form in my pea brain.
So . . . does it help to use FireFox ? That was a dumb question. I suppose I could just try it but I normally just use Safari and never FF.
HTML . . . now that you mention it that bit has gone away or receded since I spent much time here before.
Hmmmm
I admit to being HTML challenged so I could be happy about that aspect.
I know; we could all meet over in the Mac chat room and just use computer sounding code words for wood terms. A PC is a hammer, a Mac is a finish plane, an iPod is a saw . . . no that would be more difficult than the selecting and stuff that Chris suggested.
Ahhhh life is hard . . .
: )
I'm using Firefox on a, uh, hammer. Cutting and pasting works most of the time, but links and externally-hosted images are difficult and impossible, respectively.
