My son graduated from Basic at Ft. Benning GA, and I got to go and present him his blue cord and he got to come home with us. It seems like yesterday he was born.
We were visiting the civil war naval museum in Columbus GA, when a little boy saw him in his uniform, and he was only about 5 years old came up grabbed him by his leg hugged him and said thank you for saving our country. Made me really proud. Every body we met in the airport and traveling were so nice and were constantly thanking him for his service. While I fear for the future, I’m happy today.

I'm proud of your son too, good job to both of you.
What I got for father's day was foooood. BBQed ribs, baked beans, smoked salmon, country veggies, watermelon, salad, good bread, gourmet cheeses, beer, cake, coffee, beer.
We were at my Brother- in- law's cabin (which I built for him) with a bunch of family. Fourth annual event.
Here is a photo of the cabin. It's off the grid and has solar power. It sits high it the mountains overlooking the Kittitas Valley and Mount Rainier.

WOW
That's one hell of a view! Food is always good!
the day
That sounds like a most excellent day, Bones.
What a proud moment
I think that's awesome that you could do that with him. I sure appreciate young men & women who are willing to join the military. Congrats to your son!
My family was very good to me - I got a Lie-Nielsen 60-1/2 block plane, and a lathe. I also got pizza and Guinness for lunch and my wife's enchiladas for dinner. I am a very happy dad! I was hoping to get invited to meet my new daughter in Russia, but it didn't happen this week - that would have been an awesome Father's Day present! Oh well - it'll happen soon.
Proud father
Bones:
Not only are you a proud father, from that last picture you both appear to be rather well sated. Life is good.
Congratulations,
Jim
My memory's good, it's just short.
