Does anyone know how much a sheet of good one side birch plywood weighs? I need to build a box for the back of a friends side-by-side Quad. It will take about four sheets of plywood to build it. The box is for his camping and fishing stuff. He wants it both weather-proof and dust-proof. It will end up being about 4′ W x 3 1/2′ H x 3 1/2′ D. It will have shelves in too.
Does anyone have any good ideas to make the doors dust and weather resistant? I was thinking of making the doors inset with weather stripping around the stops, or is there a better way?

Hi Dan, Here are some weights for common lumberyard commodities per 1000sf. Probably for fir ply but it will be in the ballpark:

Thanks, Cool website. The box I want to build is heavier than I thought. Maybe I'll have to re-design it.
Dan,
The attached wesite has the weights they use for shipping their wood, including plywood.
