What does Spar varnish add to Tried & True Varnish oil
Anyone know why or what the benefits are to adding spar varnish to Tried & True Varnish oil or vice versa? Does one bring out the grain and the other harden the surface? Thanks..

The tried and true is a blend of oil and varnish and thinner. Adding more varnish is just altering the proportions. It will give a faster build to the surface film.
To each his own. I will admit up front I have no experience with this product. I did some research on it and being a pragmatic sort, I can't see where it is worth the effort. If you want an oil varnish blend, I would highly recommend a Waterlox finish.
