What format to post attachments in?
I’ve got two posts early on here, the first of which is to ask the Pros, what’s the best format to post attachments in? DesignCad 3D saved my drawing in .dcd format, and it can be exported in any of the following:
AutoCad DWG, DXF, IGES, RIB, VRML, Word Perfect WPG, Windows Metafile, or HGPL Plot File
What’ the best format to use with regard to others being able to open the file to help, and with regard to the size of the resultant file? Or do we just post in “our format” and let you import it as you wish?

dxf.
This is the standard AutoCAD exchange format; most follow on programs will import/export it. It also preserves precision- (up to 0.00000001 if I remember correctly)- overkill for WW, but a major reason that the format is so popular (engineering drawings and the like). If you make a drawing and save it an application's native format, it might not be recognized- particularly a few years from now; but dxf is a standard, it will be supported.
