Is acrylic conversion coating from Sherwin-Williams simply lacquer? My sales rep talked me out of Conversion Varnish and sent me home with five gallons of this ACRY CONV CTG . He says its non yellowing and user friendly. I ‘am more concerned about durability . I will be spraying kitchen cabinets. Should I stick with CV ? I have sprayed many finishes including automotive . I would like to think I could handle spraying CV .

Is it a new product? I haven't heard of it. SW's Kemvar conversion varnish has a good reputation - but CV off-gases some nasty/deadly chemicals. If you're not using a spray booth and fresh air supplied drying room it may be a good idea to stay away from Kemvar and other CVs.
SW has a number of coatings to choose from - you can review them at http://www.sherwin.com/OEM/wood/products/systems/default.asp
If you're dealing with the industrial rep at SW, chances are he's giving you great advice. The guys at the regular paint stores don't know much about their wood coatings division, but the super stores that stock the coatings have some real experts on staff.
I am pretty sure it is a new product , know buddy seams have tried this stuff or is familiar with it . I had a heck of a time finding info on it in the SW web site. I do Have a paint booth with ex. fan.
