Hi I was reading in a turning book and the author was using Deft to finish his turnings. Does anybody have any info on it and where to get it.I looked in a couple woodworking catalogs and they didn’t have it. Thanks Rick

I looked in a Woodcraft catalog it wasn't there another post said try Lowes when I'm out tommrow I'll try there Thanks
my local lowes carries deft products.
Thanks I'll try Lowes on Mon.
I am anything but an expert on finishing. But I have used Deft brush-on laquer on virtually all my furniture products and I am very happy with the results. Finishing the last of 3 or 4 coats with 600 grit sandpaper and 0000 steel wool can give you a very high sheen. I have not tried to get a high gloss finish but I am sure it can be done with pumice or rottenstone. I can get Deft at practically any paint store or hardware store.
I found it at Lowes the other day. I'll be finishing some turnings on Sat. I'll try your way. Thanks Rick
Deft, to its credit, has one of the best Product Specification sheet. It lists much of the information you need to use the product as well as what's in it. [soapbox]This is a far cry from most manufacturers that deliberately obfuscate their products. [/soapbox]
Scroll to the bottom and click on Product Specification sheets
