What is it?
show me the picture.
when gluing up narrower boards to make a wide one, long clamps are used to pull the glued edges together. often the boards will not lay perfectly flat on the clamps under the boards. At that point a clamp is put on top and that little slit fits into the clamp bar.the large clam p is tightened and then the screw in your device is tightened forcing the bowed stack down on the clamps below
Edge Clamp or panel-center clamp.
