It looks like an old luan door that was clear-coated, probably with an oil-based product. I believe the "color" is the product of age. If I was trying to match it I would start with an amber shellac. Once happy with the color you can topcoat with poly for durability. Get your new door and do the testing on the hinge side bottom corner where it will be the least visible in the end.
Yup. Early 1960s hollow core luan door, finished with an oil based varnish, pre poly. Just aging of the finish. There were aproximately 82 kajillion identical doors made and finished exactly the same.
