I’m trying to build a headboard to match the rest of the furniture. Trying to figure out what kind of wood this is made out of. Any thoughts? TIA!

Not sure, but it has the look of ash with a translucent white finish or wash, or perhaps bleached.
Also unsure, but my first impression was birch.
There is a Forest Service office that identifies wood. They will do up to three specimens per year (non-commercial requests only) and it's free. You simply send them a sample and wait. Be patient, it takes a 2-3 months to get a reply. Go to: https://www.fpl.fs.fed.us/research/centers/woodanatomy/wood_idfactsheet.php
I have no idea of the exact species, but it looks like the standard open pored wood that's common to all imported furniture these days. And they bleached the crap out of it too.
If the furniture was made in the last 10 or 15 years it is likely imported, and made from a non-native species.
Where did it come from?
It looks a lot like acacia to me, but heck, it could be poplar for all I can tell from your pick. Can you take some close-ups?
Never seen such kind of wood before. Looks very different from types of woods I ever used. I think you need to show it to some local carpenter in your area to figure out which kind of wood is this. I hope it helps.
you could likely use ash (like Rob suggested) or the sapwood from poplar to match it fairly well. Like John mentioned, if the set is imported it is likely something similar to a light luan that's been bleached.
