So I scored and found an amazing George Nelson credenza on Craigslist.
It looks like this
Mine’s not in this good of shape, but I plan on refinishing it.
My first question is what material is that sliding black door made out of? The door on mine has seen better days. My assumption is that it’s just a form of masonite/hardboard.
Thoughts?
If it is a hardboard, does anyone know where I can find different colors, or would it have been normal brown and painted black?
thanks!

Examine, explore
I'm not familiar with that particular maker, and have no idea of the construction. But, if you examine the doors closely (surface and edges), you should be able to determine the material used. It might be painted hardboard, or a laminated material of some sort.
Antique?
This is not an "official" antique I guess until it gets to be 100 years old. Restoring/refinishing antiques can remove most of their value. Would that be the case with this piece?
