I cann’t decide what wood lathe will be good for turning wood plates ( like wheels) of 12 inches in diameter. I was looking for the JET JML 1014 / 708351. ?
I’ll appreciate your help.
Thank You

Most mini / midi lathes can only accomodate stock 10" or less in diameter. Probably need a full size for 12" diameter.

I have the Jet model, and I love it. Planewood is right about the size, you can't do a 12" plate on it. I use it mainly for small stuff - pens, pencils, items like that. I did get the bed extension which bolts on to give about 40" of length.
I have played with some small bowls, cups, etc. on it, and does a pretty good job. It is not, however, the tool for serious bowl and plate turning.
I have the Fischer midi lathe. Same as the Jet 10" maximum over the bed.
