A friend asked me to make 7 planter boxes of various sizes. The materials total approximately $500 and the project includes repitition in the parts. My problem is that I am not sure how to charge for my services. Any ideas?

I once did a set for a buck an' a half, and a purty woman's phone number.

I did 6 window boxes a short time ago, 12" x 36" in white pine with a simple scotia molding. I went and met with the customer. She had some plastic boxes that were brand new and rather nice. They had a built in self watering system, I made the wood boxes so the plastic would fit inside. The first one I made as a sample, with beveled sides, which is what we discussed. She didn't like the bevel after seeing it. That one is now in my pile for recycling, basically a loss. I built the boxes, delivered and installed them for $100 each. I would have liked to get more but I thought they would have been unreasonable. A little money is better than none, the price was what she expected, everyone is happy. The fact is, you can't always charge what you should, you have to know what the market will bear, otherwise you get labeled as too expensive and you may miss other jobs because of it. So, I have to work longer and cheaper now and then, that's show biz. It will all work out in the long run and I'm sure I'll get called for the next project.
what to charge for planter boxes
Thanks for your input. I wound up charging exactly what the materials cost which was $500 and $500 fot labor. I think that I could have gotten more but it was someone that I know and the work was not very difficult. Just alot of repetitive production parts. Thanks again.

we see how God was working using the yet still unborn child. The Psalmist provides many due to God to the way in which he was made. The considered of aborting this fearfully and wonderfully created personnel little one will be completely far from place and an offence when it comes to the God who curiously wrought and included the little one within the mother's womb. isn't really it an honor for moms these times to observe how the Lord is at purpose throughout the little one about being created soon?
