A couple of years ago, there was a cover article on an outdoor chair. I can’t remember the name of the design, but do remember that it was made of about 4 or 5 wide boards, had a recline, and was said to be a “classic” and comfortable design.
Can someone remind me of the style name and perhaps the issue in which it was shown? I don’t remember enough about it to find it in the online archives.
Thanks

Adirondack chair?

No, sir, that's not it. It was kinda art deco looking. Reminded me of Mcintosh style but reclined.
You thinking the Lutyens garden bench?

RW, I'm sorry, but no, that's not it either. One of the things that stuck out to me was that the construction was very simple, with just boards (no curves) and simple joinery.Hmmm, damn, I wish I could describe it better. I sure appreciate the thoughts though. Have any others??
Ken,
In the Spring of this year, Taunton Press released a magazine format publication called "Decks and Outdoor Projects". It was a collection of reprints from Fine Woodworking and Fine Homebuilding. On the cover was an Adirondack chair, with the word "comfortable" in the description. It sounds like what you are looking for, and there hasn't been any other issue of FWW in the last four years with an outdoor chair on the cover.
You can still order the title from Taunton. The plans included in the article weren't fully dimensioned but you can get a detailed dimensioned drawing by contacting [email protected].
Hope this is what you were looking for.

John, Thanks for that, too. It's not an adirondack, either. I looked at the book ToC, and it doesn't look like it's there either.
I'll give it one last try: I 'think' it looks something like the attachment. (my rude graphic of a profile)
Thanks again for your guys help. Worst comes to worst and I'll just have to sort through the volumes this weekend.
I think I know the one you may be talking about, but alas, I can't remember the name. I do recall though that it was first designed by a Scandnavian -- either Norwegian or Swedish. If we are talking about the same chair, I have seen and sat in one. I hope you like the look, becasue I didn't think it was comfortable at all. I will dig around and see what I can find.
I looked at every issue that I still have for the past 4 years or so and couldn't find it. Nikki, if you're right, it sounds like I'm not missing much. Thanks again for the help.
I did do some looking, but could not turn up the name of the chair. Sorry..........
