Hey All, Hope you can help me identify this plane! I found it in a flee market in Maryland and got it just out of curiousity. There are no manufacturers marks on it at all. It is about 5 inches long and 2 inches wide and built like a box (parallellagram actually)with the blade attaching directly to the inside/rear side. The blade is located very near the rear of the plane (about 3/4″ from the rear). It has a lid to contain the shavings of whatever is being planed. The blade is sharpened both ends so it can be turned around when one end gets dull but the only adjustment is the screw holding the blade in place. The throat is quite open – about a quarter inch. The whole thing is galvanized.
I’ve attached a couple photos; one showing a side view and one showing the inside.
Thanks for looking!

Howard,
Your "plane" is an ice shaver. It's used for making shaved ice.

Thanks Dano,
I thought that might be it due to the lid and the galvanized coating but it seemed a little small. On the other hand, I'll bet it probably holds enough ice to fill one 8 oz glass. I'll have to try it out and see. Thanks again!
