I need to build a large outdoor sign and I’m considering using western red cedar 4x4s with mortise and tenon joinery. I do not want to use pressure treated lumber. Any other suggestions?

How large is the sign and are the 4x4's for the panel or the posts? Will it be sandblasted, painted, routed?
What type of exposure will it get, does it face the southern sky or western sun?
