I have a number of rustic-style pieces of Mexican-made furniture in my house that have hardware made (presumably)of iron, with a rust finish. I’ve seen this same style of metal available in lighting fixtures, etc, and would like to find similar hardware to use on my kitchen cabinets. Can anyone recommend manufacturers/vendors (preferably on-line) that would have such a thing? I haven’t had luck finding them locally (NC).
Thanks

Create your own in no time at all. Buy the cheapest steel hardware you can find at your local hardware shop, throw it in some salty or vinegary water, remove it, and leave the parts outside for a few hours. Repeat as necessary.
If it rains and dries a lot, repeat treatments won't be needed! Just leave it there. Perfect rusty look in just two or three days.
*Melinda:I hope this isn't too late, as i've just come on line and looked at your message. There is a line of hardware made by LB Brass, which is available in a rust (and other) finishes. I have seen it displayed in upscale decor centers, such as Smoots in Alexandria,VA and some is available in the new home depot expo centers, although it is not labeled as LB Brass. You can buy it on line from a distributor in Illinois. http://www.stcharlesbrass.com, I think. although I have had an order with them that is long overdue. The rust finish is an extra, and i guess the foundry is real busy. good luckcharlie leedecker
*Van Dyke's Restorers in Woon Socket, South Dakota, has a line of rust finish hardware in their latestcatalogue. Their customer service can be a bit dicey, but they have a very broad line of offerings.
*I saw some rusty door hardware on e-bay (there are very few things you cannot buy on e-bay). Maybe there is some cabinet hardware too.
