Getting ready to redo my main bathroom, anyone have ideas or thoughts on what type of backerboard to use? In the past I have used the cement boards and I have no complaints. I know there are some new products now that may be better. Plan on tiling over it with thin set. Thanks

You might want to try posting over at Breaktime. But to answer your question, there are some nice cement board products out there. Much better than bathroom rated drywall...
We just had a new bathroom put in and for the shower surround they used Hardibacker 500. Here is the link:

It is supposed to be much lighter and easier to work than Durock, which is what I used when remodeling our old bathroom several years ago. Durock is heavy and hard to cut, but works well.
