Plan to buy a 23 guage pin nailer. Intrested in comments on senco vs porter cable. Which would you chose or do you use and why. Any problems with either?

I have the Accuset (by Senco). No problems so far.

MWINKLE-- I have the Senco ( according to the tool guy ay my lumber yard, the Accuset model is no longer made ). It is a good tool, although it does have limited uses. I use it for mouldings where I want a minimal nail head showing.
I have the Senco, and did have a problem. It jammed with only a few nails left. Couldn’t get them out. To the repair center, for a warranty repair. It was free, but quite slow. I tried to get them to show me how they fixed it so I could do it the next time; no chance. Insurance, etc., the usual excuses.
As I used it more I noticed that there is a sort of strong magnet that holds the nail strip tight to the front of the gun. Now, when I remove the strip after use, I check to see if there are any left, and if so, I shoot them out into scrap. No problems since this discovery. Others probably know this, but I had to figure it out. Nothing in the instructions (minimal as they are) suggested this as an issue.
Only thing I would want different is for the amount of the set to be adjustable; it is not.

Using it for marquetry, or finish work?
Model making and finish work
The micro pinner is handy when locating and setting drawer fronts on drawers when finishing cabinets. With the drawer closed you can eyeball the face precisely and tag it with the pinner. The holes are so small, they hardly show. I also use the pinner to nail small pieces of cheese when making wainscoting. Those are just a few of the uses. It is a very handy tool. I have an accuset but senco makes them now.
I use a PC 23 gauge and really like it. I purchased it for small moldings, etc., but I find I use it more frequently to temporarily fasten templates rather than use double sided tape. When finished I just pull the pins from the template. I also make a lot of shelves for barbeque smokers which are laid up from strips of mahogany and maple, which are in turn laminated to a subbase and then wrapped in mahogany. I use the pin nailer to tack the subbase in position from the bottom after I apply the glue. This keeps everything aligned while I clamp the assembly in cauls.
My only complaint, which is minor, is the air hose. I don't like being tied to a leash. One of these days I would like to try one of the battery powered guns.

Shoot...I deleted it because it was missing some info. Thanks...about to give up posting because it seems like nobody even reads them. Thanks...will repost.
I have the Accuset. I've used it for 3 years with no problems. Since its no longer made I would go with the Senco over PC. I've only had good luck with them.
As far as dealers taking a long time to service, that sounds like a problem with a particular shop not Senco.
Glendo.
Thanks for the reply- seems like the senco(accuset) is ahead by a slight margin.
