Many thanks in advance!!
I saw some time ago an advert for a router bit. Can I locate it now? The aadvert was on-line via a feed from FWW or one of the opposition,!
The router bit was designed to cut a 45 degree angle trench to allow the butting of stiles and rails when constructing wall panelling.
Anyone know of the tiem?
Thanks.
PAul.

Which router bit?
Many thanks Bruce, but nope!
Probably my description was off.
The profile of the bit has a 45degree side plus a bottom cutting edge. Used on the side of a frame it will cut a notch with a flat bottom and 45 degree slopes at start and finish.
On the end of a frame piece it will nick off a 45 degree corner, allowing the right angle butting of the two pieces to make a "frame" .

channel cutting router bit
If you're willing to settle for 60 degree rather than 45 degree shoulders, the Bosch bit 85540M (60 degree lettering bit) should do the job.
Otherwise if you can't find a stock bit to do what you're after a machine shop that does sharpening could probably modify a straight bit rather easily.
Possibly the bit in this system?

source for bit
Local sharpening shop says they can probably come up with something if they know
how much flat distance?
depth of cut?
Shank diameter?
Could probably modify existing v-groove bit
If you can send me an email with the information I'll forward that to the shop owner
