I am getting a scroll saw and my wife was nagging me about getting one too. Her birthday is coming up. So which one??????
Is there a comparison I can look at? I want a tool that isn’t a pain to operate. One that doesn’t break blades and changes blades out easily.
Should I get variable speed?
Are the Dewalts good enough? Which model?
P.S. I forgot about blades. I’m thinking of doing puzzles out of 1/4″ ply.

Hi David, I just sent you a reply to your earlier email. It has links in it to a forum and a blade supplier. I forgot to mention that Mike is more than willing to talk to you on the phone or answer any email questions about what blades to order. He is an expert!
The only "review" I know of on scroll saws was last year, and I was disappointed with the quality of the research they did. Since you're willing to buy above the introductory level of saw, the Delta 20" (21"? can't remember) or the DeWalt are the two best choices as far as I know. To get experienced opinions on the two machines, I'd suggest you go to the MSN group and find out what people's opinions are. You'll probably find quite a bit of discussion by searching their archives.

Thank you VERY much.
