Has anyone else used White Gold for sharpening? IT is used with a leather strop. I recently took a class and the instructor really liked the results he gets from it. If you have used it and like it can you tell me a little more about it? I have waterstones I am using to flatten all the backs of my chisel and I am almost ready for final sharpening and would enjoy some feedback from you guys and gals.

White gold is a good honing rouge. It is good for that final polish for sharpness after honing on your stones. Just a few stokes though. Too many strokes can round over your edge. Your might try white gold smeared on mdf as a last step for stropping. Always strop away from the cutting edge, unlike honing. Hope this post isn't too stale.
